Filter Files
File filtering is used to remove email addresses from a list that have/lack a certain group of keywords. This is a specialized facet of cleaning that is not often required by most people, and because it is a slow process, the number of allowable keywords has been limited based on the amount of RAM you have on the computer your running Listease PRO on. For processing a list of removals or exact matches, the Clean List function should be used. Only partial phrases or keywords should be used with this function.
Example : You are unsure of the current state of a list you have just extracted, and want to make sure there are no government organization email addresses in your list. Use the Filter Files function, specifying the keywords ' .gov ' and ' .mil '. Set the filter type to ' Exclude ' . Any email address in the list that has either of those keywords in the address will be removed.
Example : You just extracted a list of email addresses for online casinos and know almost anyone in the industry worth their salt has the word ' Casino ' in their email address. Use the Filter Files function, specifying the keyword ' Casino '. Set the filter type to ' Include ' . Only those entries with the word ' Casino ' will be kept.
Using Filter List :
Other Options :
Example : You know AOL member can only get text email. Your HTML advertisement may not reach them in a readable format for this reason, so you will send a seperate text version to AOL members. In order to get a seperate list of AOL email addresses only, use the Filter Files function, specifying the keyword ' .aol '. Set the filter type to ' Exclude ' . Any email address in the list that has that keyword in the address will be removed, and placed in a " Removal File " you specify, effectively straining the AOL addresses from your list for later use.
